The History of UpRight Warehouse Solutions
Originally UpRight was named More Than A Carpenter Services, which began operations in 1999, with our name being arising from our desire to do the work we do in a way that honors God – a desire that continues to this day. As our work started becoming more focused on the warehouse and manufacturing business sector, our name was eventually transformed into an acronym and we became known as MTAC Industrial Solutions. The early motto of our company was “Don’t Just Get it Done, Get it Done Right”.
From the very beginning “right” has been a key driver behind our solutions-oriented approach to our work, encompassing pre-project research, job preparation, deliverables and work ethic. In the early days of our pallet rack repair efforts we even created the first-of-its-kind pallet rack jack to help us do this new work more efficiently. As pallet rack repair grew to become a major component of our workload, we grew in our understanding of the process and continued to hone our installation skillset.
The Day Everything Changed
In 2018 we were called in for a pallet rack inspection at a facility that had only been operational for 20 months. To our surprise, there were already 375 damaged frames in need of immediate repair. The real surprise, however, was still to come…there was a 3-month lead time for the goods needed to complete these critical repairs. Despite the real risk the facility was in with that magnitude of damaged rack, the face-to-face plea to our repair kit provider for a faster timeline was rejected. Sadly, frustratingly long wait times had become the industry expectation (and have only gotten worse). Something had to change.
On the long drive home from the failed mission to speed up the process for his client, MTAC Founder and President Daniel Klinger prayed to find a faster way to do this part of our work. God answered with a revelation: the pallet rack repair kit could be a modular solution instead of the single welded piece (which was the primary reason that manufactured goods took so long). Over the next two years, through focused research, innovative design and precision engineering, the PE Stamp was received and patents awarded for both the process and the parts. UpRight Rapid Rack Repair was born!
